Service was brilliant, properly professional hospitality. Our servers were so lovely and helpful, catered to anything we asked. The interior was really cosy and I enjoyed the music and seating. They also brought out some tablet and chocolate for free as it was my partner’s birthday which was unexpected and kind.
The only disappointment was the food!
I had a whiskey sour cocktail which I didn’t enjoy, but won’t hold that against The Buttery, it was my taste.
For starters we had the fig salad, and the scallop dish. The scallops were nice but the sauce didn’t have much flavour to it. The fig dish for me didn’t get the textures right. Following that I had the halibut for main. This was a big disappointment… the fish was dry, the sauce wasn’t nice, the potatoes were abundant and flavourless.
The presentation left a lot to be desired particularly on the mains. Everything was stacked up with the sauce poured freely.
I would maybe return based on the great service, maybe I caught the kitchen on a bad day. But for the price as well the food didn’t do it for me.

This was a wonderful dining experience. The staff hit the perfect balance of formal and friendly, the menu was small but well designed and had something for everyone In particular our kids were made very welcome which made the whole meal very enjoyable!

I thought that this was going to be a five star review after the first two courses (which were wonderful) but there was a real drop-off in quality with the desserts.
The Panna Cotta was over gelatinised and didn't move. The creme brulee was completely liquid.
At this price range there are better and more accessible dining options in Glasgow.

The staff are super friendly and professional. Which makes the atmosphere. Gluten free friendly and even have a kids menu. Feel I made the wrong choice picking two curried dishes when wanting the Scottish fix but was in the mood for fish and both came with curry.

Amazing food the atmosphere inside the restaurant is laid back and comfortable even though it is a higher class restaurant.
Our server on the night was stephen very attentive and would highly recommend

This was my first time at The Buttery and it won’t be my last! Wonderful staff who were attentive and friendly. Food was delicious as was the wine. A lovely way to spend some time with family at Christmas. Thank you for a great experience.

An excellent meal around Christmas, with none of the usual shortcuts used by far too many other restaurateurs at this time of year. Excellent food and wine, with very attentive but not intrusive service and a great relaxing vibe. The overall price was also very modest for this outstanding meal.

A cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The Beef & Mushroom was a rich and flavorful dish that set the tone for the rest of the meal. The Highland Venison was tender and perfectly cooked, offering a delicious flavor. The Gingerbread Cheesecake was the perfect end to the meal. The service was excellent, with attentive staff who made the experience even better. Overall, a fantastic spot for anyone looking for top-notch food in a welcoming setting.

Lovely lunch, almost a throwback to afternoon tea with your granny. Quaint surroundings. Fantastic Cullen Skink - the best I’ve ever had. The coley was superb too. However my wife wasn’t too keen on her sea bream - not a fan of the sauce! Would happily recommend

We had a fabulous lunch downstairs in the private dining room for a friend's special birthday celebration. The food was absolutely fantastic, perfectly cooked and delicious served by the most attentive and friendly staff. We can't praise the Buttery enough. It's our favourite, favourite restaurant. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff and chefs.
